Anna Shopova graduated as a MA in Scenography from the National Academy of Arts in 2019. In February 2021 she became a PhD student at the Academy’s Scenography department under the guidance of prof. Svetoslav Kokalov.
Since 2018 Anna has been working on theatrical and solo artistic projects. Among her last works in theatre are scenography and costumes for the productions: “Mammoth” by Stanislav Stratiev, directed by Zhivko Gushterov, TMC ─ Kardzhali and Theatre Menon Foundation (2023); “The Cherry Orchard” by A. P. Chehov, directed by Delyan Iliev, NATFA Theatre (2022) and “The Titanic Orchestra” by Hristo Boychev, direction and theatrical version by Delyan Iliev, Rhodope Drama Theatre „Nikolay Haytov” – Smolyan (2021).
In her solo projects “Pink Stash of Memories” (2021) and “Fragile Theatre I” (2022), realized with the support of the National Culture Fund, Anna creates spaces by blending drawings, photos, collages, texts, video, sound and installations. She has also participated in group exhibitions, the last one during the International Art Festival SAW5 (Sofia Art Week 2022). Awarded for Costume Design at the National Small Theatre Forms Festival Vratsa 2022.
